WNA Board of Directors Has Heard YOU…

We heard you asking for new membership options and we are providing Wyoming Nurses with new membership options to the Wyoming Nurses Association.
WNA membership passed bylaw changes at the 2006 Annual meeting that allows for direct membership in WNA or ANA. Traditionally “membership” meant membership to both WNA/ANA; however we recognized that RNs should have more options to be connected to their professional association. The new membership change provides authority for the WNA-Only membership option, require the President and Vice President to be WNA/ANA Members, and restrict voting for ANA Delegates to WNA/ANA members. These new membership changes offer Wyoming nurses two new membership options.  Wyoming nurses now have the option to belong:

  1. WNA (State only Membership)
  2. ANA (only)
    OR
  3. WNA/ANA (Full Membership)

WNA State-Only Membership Category

Summary
This membership would be created in partnership with ANA however ANA benefits would not be available to those joining though this membership category. The advantage is the ability to create a membership that not only provides value to nurses but also the ability to join WNA for those not wanting to affiliate with ANA.
