The Wyoming Nurses Association (WNA), the state’s largest professional nursing association for registered nurses in all practice settings, has elected a new president, Kathryn Luzmoor, MS, RN, CNE.
Kathy began her nursing career 40 years ago and her experience includes but is not limited to: acute care, clinic nursing, hospice, case management, nursing education, and management. While working in case management, she recognized fully the importance of team-based care and the patient’s autonomy. Hospice nursing gave her the sensitivity to see how allowing the patient and family control improved quality of life.
Nursing education was a great way to use all her nursing knowledge and make a difference in the lives of new nurses.
Though retired from full-time employment, she enjoys remaining active in professional nursing organizations and is a member of several health-related boards.
Advocating for nursing has become her passion, and the Wyoming Nurses Association (Affiliate of American Nurses Association) is proud to have her as their leader.
