According to ANA’s Health Risk Appraisal, nurses sleep an average of 7 hours per night, which is on the low end of the recommended daily 7-9 hours that the National Sleep Foundation recommends. And 12 percent of the Health Risk Appraisal respondents reported that they had nodded off while driving in the past month.
Getting more and better sleep can help nurses feel calmer, happier, and have a better quality of life.
During the 5-day Healthy Sleep Challenge, Healthy Nurse, Healthy NationTM will provide simple tips and strategies from ANA’s resources on healthy sleep that will help you get a better night’s rest.
